Savannah’s 45 Bistro Remains Open After Marshall House Hotel Sale
There was a little chatter around Savannah over the weekend about 45 Bistro, so let’s clear that up as best we can.
The Marshall House Hotel on Broughton Street has been sold. That much is true. Naturally, when a historic hotel changes hands, people start asking questions about everything inside of it. In this case, that included 45 Bistro, which has been tucked inside The Marshall House for 25 years now and remains one of Savannah’s signature eateries with the local crowd.
What I’ve been told is simple: 45 Bistro is not closing right now. They are expected to remain open through at least the end of the year. After that? “Time will tell.”
That is not meant to sound dramatic. It is just the reality of the situation as it has been shared with me.
The bigger point, really, is that 45 Bistro has long been one of those Savannah restaurants that locals love, even if they are not necessarily in your face every day on social media. There are a handful of places like that around town. Restaurants that built their following the old-fashioned way, long before Instagram became part of the daily routine.
I talk more about that on this week’s podcast, including a few other great Savannah restaurants that fit that same description. It’s a solid list. Give us a listen.
