Savannah Coffee Roasters is a classic coffee shop. Not in a New York City kind of way, but more in a coffee roaster operation with food cafeteria kind of way. Sandwiches, Salads, pastries and desserts are the staples here.
THE MOOD:
SCR is popular. Very popular with locals for meetings and tourists who are just looking for a Cup of Joe and a bite. You order at the counter and take a number to your table. Food is brought to you. Beans roasted on site are available for purchase by the pound.
BEST FOR:
Something for everyone. An extensive menu, all items made in house, is the perfect fit for a variety of palettes in a group. You can have a grilled cheese, your friend can have a salad, someone else can enjoy a homemade soup. Variety. Especially for Brunch seekers.
WHAT YOU’LL LOVE:
The variety. When they are fresh, the homemade cookies are some of the best in the city. Indoor/outdoor seating makes for a nice respite on a pretty day in Savannah.
WHAT YOU WON’T:
We’ve watched prices creep up a little bit and portions not. The food is good, but this wouldn’t be our first choice in Savannah for value for your dollar.
