*Here’s a quick story I got a kick out of a couple of weeks ago up in Charleston. I was sitting at Hank’s Seafood next to a couple from Michigan. I watched her order Shrimp and Grits, she said, for the first time. “I’ve never had a grit.” she said. The plate came out and it was beautiful. It smelled great too. She ate every bite and then said “I could eat that every day.” Welcome to The South, young lady.
*It always makes us happy when people trust to take a road trip to eat some food we’ve recommended. It happened last weekend when we got some photos from Chrissy Slater in Pooler. She and her husband made their way to Beedo’s Burgers in St. Helena Island. “It’s maybe the best smash burger I’ve ever had.” she said. Yes, they are that good.
*If you’ve been following us for a minute, then you may remember the Eat It and Like It Foodie Awards. Our ‘Best Of” event. It’s back. April 23rd. Savannah’s BEST night in food. But more on that next week.
