It would be very fair to call it a banner week for Pooler’s food scene. Two popular Savannah eateries announced their plans to open locations in Pooler last week.
The first was Big Bon Bodega, Savannah’s very popular bagel sandwich shop and now pizzeria. The plans have been in the works for a while, but the news finally leaked on their location this week. Big Bon’s bagel magic is coming soon to the Savannah Quarters area of Pooler. More specifically at The Commons. Look for them to open early next year.

The other big announcement came from the Tequila’s Town family of Mexican restaurants. After 5 years of trying to bring a location to Pooler, the announcement was finally made last week via social media.
Tacos and Tequila by Tequila’s Town is headed for 405 Pooler Parkway in the space formerly occupied by Ponko Chicken.
According to their post, the build out will begin soon and you can expect them to open early Spring 2024. You can expect it to be very popular. Tequila’s Town is probably Savannah’s most popular Mexican restaurant. Their original location on Whitaker Street in Downtown Savannah is a staple on the downtown food scene.
Tequila’s Town also has a 2nd location downtown Savannah on Habersham Street as well as locations in Sandfly, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida.
Not to get lost too deeply in the shuffle of big news for Pooler last week is the arrival of Dave and Busters, the national family arcade chain. The held their soft open last week and have announced an grand opening date of December 4th…Monday.
The announcements are a big deal for Pooler and its residents looking for dining options other than chain restaurants. The development is clearly there in the area with no signs of slowing down. Now local eats are coming to town in great regularity as well.
