Plant Riverside District hosts wine pairing featuring Jackson Family Wines

The cooling temperatures are a sign that it’s time to get off the rooftop bars and head into Plant Riverside District’s Stone & Webster Chophouse to sample some Jackson Family Wines.

On Thursday, October 21, Master Sommelier Michael Jordan will be on hand for a four-course wine dinner to showcase Jackson Family Wines alongside chef-prepared items.

Plant Riverside District will host a special Wine Dinner with Master Sommelier Michael Jordan of Jackson Family Wines on Thursday, Oct. 21, featuring a four-course dinner and expert wine pairings showcasing Jackson Family Wines.

The menu for the evening includes:

1st course: Roasted butternut squash, ube-coconut puree, PSL furikake, butter lettuce, green apple. This is paired with Stonestreet Estate Chardonnay, Alexander Valley.

2nd course: Quail ballotine, elderberry, blackberry , agnolotti. This will be paired with Copain “Tour Ensemble” Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast.

3rd course: Wagyu, buttermilk steamed Georgia prawns, trumpet mushroom, crispy leek, sea beans, apple apricot gastrique. This is paired with Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Veeder.

4th course: Poached pear tart, roasted nut caramel, hazelnut gelato. This desert course will be paired with Freemark Abbey Viognier.

“What’s really exciting about this wine dinner is it’s not just Riverside District. All of the Kessler Collection Hotels in Savannah are having their head chefs contribute to this dinner,” said Keri Evans, Director of Food and Beverage at Plant Riverside District.

“We have like the hors d’oeuvres and the second course coming from our Chef De Cuisine, which is Jacob Hammer from Stone & Webster. And then we have our first course and our third and our fourth coming from our executive chef from the Bohemian and also from the Mansion on Forsyth Place. They’re working collaboratively to create this dinner that night.”

The wines will be brought out before each course with Michael Jackson explaining the pairing.

Reservations are required and can be booked through Open Table. Just select the “experience” under the 7 p.m. spot for October 21. Reservations start at $145.
