Some people wouldn’t call this a dive. Just a very small pub. We happen to think it’s both. If you haven’t been, you should, so it’s on the list.
They have a fantastic selection of whiskeys, both domestic and Irish. And it’s one of the few places in town you can find Magners Irish Cider, which is perfect for those hot summer days (and nights).
If you’ve ever wondered what the Irish-American equivalent of Cheers is, it’s O’Connell’s. They might not know your name, but they probably know your family. There’s also a good chance you’ll end up finding out you’re related to half the bar. No joke. We’ve seen it happen.
Closest Eats: O’Connell’s sits a half block from main drag Broughton Street so any of those eateries aren’t far. Including Jalapeno’s Mexican Grill, Sushi Hana and Common Restaurant.
