From the ‘options are always good’ file comes a brand new coffee shop in a fast developing section of downtown Savannah.
“Mugsy’s” is the name of the new spot at the corner of Montgomery Street and Park avenue. The space was built out from the ground up and offers excellent coffees as well as a handful of baked from scratch bites.
I had a chocolate chip cookie that was excellent. As are the drinks. As good as any you will find downtown.

Mugsy’s is a very welcomed addition to the West side of the Victorian District. A part of town where options for coffee or sweets is fairly limited. They will do well here. No parking hassles means easy in, easy out for the ‘headed into downtown’ crowd. There is some outdoor space they are planning to turn into courtyard seating as soon as possible. For now, there is very limited rail seating along the storefront.
For now, this is largely grab and go for the neighborhood, which is just fine. I’ve been in there a couple of times already and word is trickling out.
Find them on Instagram @mugsyscafe. 1102 Montgomery Street, Savannah. (Montgomery and Park). They are open SEVEN days a week beginning at 7am.
