Lucky Rooster Kitchen and Bar announces return with new Executive Chef David Landrigan

We knew he wouldn’t be on the sidelines for very long. Fans of Chef David Landrigan from his 11 year run at Circa 1875 in Savannah will be glad to know that he has landed a solid gig. But you are going to have to drive to Hilton Head Island to enjoy some of his food. He is stepping in to run the kitchen at the very popular Lucky Rooster Kitchen and Bar. A restaurant formerly owned and operated by local chef Clayton Rollison.

We’ll be having a chat with Chef David soon enough. In the meantime, Lucky Rooster will re-open seven days a week beginning in April.

More on their official announcement here:

Renowned upscale hot-spot Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar will reopen in April according to the new owners, Leffew Restaurant Group. Guests will be welcomed back with the same chef-forward focus on fresh local ingredients and regional favorites with the addition of executive chef David Landrigan. For more information, visit luckyroosterhhi.com.

“We’re excited to welcome diners back to Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar,” said Operating Partner David Leffew, who brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to this venture. “Chef Clayton Rollison created a really special experience here and we’re looking forward to building on what he started.”

David Landrigan will take over at Lucky Rooster Kitchen and Bar HHI

Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef David Landrigan, formerly of Circa 1875 and La Scala Ristorante in Savannah. Landrigan is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park who started as a restaurant dishwasher at age 14.

He moved to Savannah in 2006, first working at The Olde Pink House and Mansion on Forsyth Park before helping open both Circa 1875 and La Scala Ristorante. After 11 successful years with Circa 1875 and La Scala Ristorante, Landrigan is looking forward to a new chapter with Leffew Restaurant Group and Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar.

Rollison opened Lucky Rooster in 2013, earning local and national recognition for his unique takes on Southern classics, and is thrilled to reach this agreement with Leffew Restaurant Group to keep the tradition moving forward. Hilton Head residents and operating partners David and Carrie Leffew seek to preserve Lucky Rooster’s passion for food and service, while continuing the restaurant’s dedication to making Hilton Head and surrounding communities an even better place to live.

Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar will be open seven days a week beginning next month, offering brunch and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Daily happy hours and live music on the patio will provide even more reasons to visit.
