A couple weeks ago we reminded you that The Darling Oyster Bar, the Charleston Based seafood restaurant, was indeed planning to open in the next couple of months. We also told you there would be other fun on the way with regard to The Darling. Well, here it is.

The Darling will be hold court for a series of ‘pop up dinners’ at The Thompson Hotel in Savannah beginning next Monday the 25th of March and running every Monday and Tuesday until April 15th and 16th.

Executive Chef Derick Wade and his crew will be taking over the Bar by Fleeting in the hotel’s lobby. He told me a few weeks back he is very excited to actually begin cooking here in Savannah and showing everyone here what The Darling is all about.

Pink Menu Pop-Up by the Darling Oyster Bar

• This March, culinary destination Thompson Savannah is continuing their guest chef pop-up series with The Darling Oyster Bar’s Executive Chef Derrick Wade. Preceding The Darling Oyster Bar opening their new Savannah location later this spring, Thompson Savannah is getting the first taste of this popular Charleston spot. Chef Wade will be taking over the hotel’s Bar by Fleeting, with more details and images coming soon. An initiative led by Thompson Savannah’s Executive Chef Victoria Shore, Fleeting is looking forward to sharing its kitchen and spotlighting Savannah’s culinary innovators.

The dates for the pop up with be as follows:
March 25th and 26th
April 1st and 2nd
April 8th and 9th
April 15th and 16th

Chef discussed wanting to offer as much of their regular menu as possible over the course of the pop up, but I suspect that will change week to week. This will be your first chance to try the dishes that will be setting up shop at Franklin Square near City Market later in the Spring.

As of 11am we’ve asked if reservations are going to be required, my GUESS right now is that will be a yes. We will keep you posted.
