EIALI Fried Chicken and Bubbles Event returns…to Bluffton

With so many yearly events still trickling back into the mainstream here, there and everywhere, it is nice to finally say we are bringing one of ours back to the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Eat It and Like It’s Fried Chicken and Bubbles event will be held on Thursday, October 27th at the Culinary Institute of the South in Bluffton.

For those who aren’t familiar, a little background.

About 5-6 years ago, it’s hard to keep track, we (Eat It and Like It) decided to hold our first dinner. It was an opportunity to enjoy a classic pairing. Fried Chicken and Champagne. We tried to call it Bird and Bubbles, but we very quickly heard from a restaurant in New York City that actually owned the term. No problem, Fried Chicken and Champagne it was. The event was held in downtown Savannah.

After a few years of success as well as realizing how many of our guests were making the drive over to Savannah from Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, we planned wayyy ahead and held our first fried chicken and bubbles event at Lucky Rooster Kitchen and Bar on the island. Clayton Rollison was still rolling along there at the time. That was January 2020.

Well, we all know what happened 2 months later.

The opportunity to partner with the Technical College of the Lowcountry was something we had given some thought before they even put a shovel in the ground in Bluffton. Personally, I thought it would be a great showcase for the campus, and a unique opportunity to enjoy some great fried chicken in the heart of Bluffton. A win win. We are glad they agreed.

The event will be held throughout their brand new facility. Students, as well as 2 guest chefs will be on hand preparing some of the best fried chicken you’ve ever had. In their own style of course. At the same time, there will be stations throughout the building pouring BOTH champagne and sparkling wine.

We are even planning a dessert room. Full of sweets and of course, more bubbles.

Our Savannah event in January

We are thrilled to share that one of our guest chefs is the already mentioned Clayton Rollison. I am asked frequently where he went after selling Lucky Rooster. He’s at Callawassie Island up the road. We are thrilled to have him with us for one night. The 2nd guest chef is confirmed but we cannot announce that just yet.

We are excited because this event will be unique. It will be so much fun and of course, it will be delicious.

The price of one ticket includes all of the chicken you care to eat and all of the bubbles you care to drink. Dessert room as well. There will be plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy, but we should stress that this is not a sit down dinner as we have done in the past.

We take great pride in the fact that we have sold out every single event we’ve ever held. We expect this one to be the same. We look forward to seeing everyone in October.
