Eat It and Like It Pop Up BBQ Event at 208 Wine Bar

We’ve got a mid-Summer event for you that we think you are going to love.

On Wednesday night August 2nd, Eat It and Like It is teaming up with Bay Street’s 208 Wine Bar to bring you a one of a kind event. Dinner featuring some of the best BBQ on the Georgia coast, Tempest BBQ (Formerly Brunswick’s South of Heaven BBQ).

If you’ve been paying attention around here the last 12 months or so, we’ve made no secret of how good we think Judd Foster’s BBQ is. Too many of you who made the trip to Brunswick agreed. Well now, for one night, you can have that magic right here in downtown Savannah.

Tempest BBQ is Judd’s new mobile venture. He’s joined the Cape Creations Catering team based here in Savannah. Their plan is to cater large scale events up and down the coast. Our dinner is essentially their coming out party and a sneak preview of what you can expect when you see Judd and his Tempest BBQ truck on the scene in the future.

This is legit delicious BBQ.

All of that combined with the fact that so many of you have asked us to host more events throughout the year in addition to our Fried Chicken and Champagne dinner every Winter brings us a beautiful evening of BBQ, beer and wine.

Sample Menu (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

*Curried Brisket Crab Rangoon
*Birria Consommé mopped ribs with Salsa Macha and White BBQ Sauce served on a cripsy hoe cake with Agave Syrup
*Slow Oak Smoked Brisket sliced and served over a bed of street corn grits and a red chili sauce. Served with a side of Tempest Charro Beans
*Peanut Butter and Whishams Pepper Jam Banana Pudding

Each guest will receive ONE ticket good for a beer or glass of wine that 208 Wine Bar Co-Owner Christina Pirovits is partnering with Georgia Crown Distributing. They are planning to pair perfectly with what Tempest BBQ is going to bring to the table. She will also be offering a cash bar for the evening. Her wine bar is beautiful, featuring sweeping views of the Savannah River and the Westin in the distance.

It is important to clarify. This will not be a buffet dinner, nor will it be ‘serve yourself’ cafeteria style. Nor is it an indoor picnic. This will be a sit down event featuring real dishes, real silverware and real glassware. I feel like it’s important to stress that because too many times people hear “BBQ” and assume it will be super casual.

Casual? Sure. Fancy? Not at all. All parties involved want it to be somewhere in between. Most of all, it’s going to be a lot of fun AND it’s going to be delicious.

Tickets are available in 2 seatings for this event on August 2nd. Our first will be at 5:00pm, the second at 7:30pm IS SOLD OUT As is the case with a majority of our Eat It and Like It events, a sellout is very much expected. As of July 10th there are 10 tickets left for the 5pm seating.

We look forward to seeing everyone.
