Dottie’s Market Savannah Announces Closing on Broughton Street

It has been one of the most frequent questions we’ve been getting over the first part of this year. Now we finally have some news to share.

Dottie’s Savannah Market, a popular Broughton Street lunch counter, bakery and grocery has announced they are closing their doors on Broughton Street permanently. The news was shared with us by Ericka Phillips, who along with her husband Christopher Meenan, own Dottie’s. The statement reads as follows:

Dear Savannah,

This isn’t goodbye — it’s just see you soon.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to close our Broughton Street location. While this chapter is coming to a close, we’re filled with gratitude for the love, support, and encouragement we’ve received from this special city.

We’re looking ahead to Dottie’s next chapter and exploring models that better support the evolving needs of the business and our broader goals. Our hope is to continue doing what we love most — feeding and connecting with the community.

We remain deeply committed to Dottie’s future. We look forward to sharing more soon and can’t wait to welcome you back when the time is right.

With heartfelt thanks,

Dottie’s Market

Dottie’s opened in 2023 with hopes of creating a unique dining experience along Broughton Street. It was part lunch counter, part grab and go outpost. In January of this year, they announced via social media that they were taking a break in January and would return in February. They never re-opened.

There is good news for fans of what Ericka and Chris were doing at Dottie’s. It would appear from their statement above that they going to find a way to return in some capacity. Smaller space? Better location? My guess is everything is on the table and we will be seeing a re-invented Dottie’s in the near future.

We’ll keep you posted.
