David Landrigan steps down at Circa 1875

Chefs come and chefs go. That’s part of the business. Anyone in the industry will tell you that. Only a few make headlines when they move on. In Savannah, David Landrigan deserves one.

Chef David ended is 10-plus year run as Executive Chef at Circa 1875 last week.

Landrigan’s final day at Circa 1875 was Jan 13th

Landrigan developed a huge following with locals. The French Brasserie is regularly one of the city’s busiest restaurants. Certainly among the most consistent. He was the only Executive Chef that restaurant ever had, of course until now.

The gastropub has been around for 14 years. A few years in, partners Jeffery Downey and Donald Lubowicki expanded to create the restaurant next door and hired Landrigan to run the show.

David was also instrumental in the build out and menu creation at their sister property La Scala Ristorante.

Downey says they were disappointed to see David go, but they certainly understand that change is part of the deal when you own a restaurant.

“Life moves on. We certainly wish David well.” Downey said.

I’ve reached out to Chef David to see if there is a next move in store for him. We will let you know when we hear back.

Downey also tells me Ja’Derrick Reed has been promoted from within. He is now running the kitchen full time.

“JD did a great job for us when David was out for a while last year.” Downey said. “He’s gotten great reviews from our guests.”
