Bluffton’s Kung Fu Cantina closes -to be replaced by Santa Fe Cafe
One of Hilton Head Island’s most popular restaurants is now joining the list of eateries expanding their footprint into Bluffton. Santa Fe Cafe, a very popular Southwestern spot on the island has announced their plans to open a 2nd location in Bluffton at Moss Creek, replacing Kung Fu Cantina, a Asian/Latin American concept that never really caught on in that spot.
The announcement was made via social media on Monday night.

Santa Fe Cafe has become a Hilton Head Island institution. It has become very popular with locals offering dishes like their painted desert soup and their hand cut cowboy ribeye. As you can see from their announcement above, Santa Fe will be open for lunch beginning on July 8th.
Kung Fu Cantina, for its part, never really caught on. Their Latin/Asian vision missed the mark on many counts in just short of a year in operation. The two concepts were owned by the same group, which should make the pivot to Santa Fe fairly seamless. Their Facebook post spoke of a total renovation of the space at Moss Creek, which tells us this plan has been in place for a while.
