Bay Street’s only dive bar is loud, dimly lit, and pretty much perfect. The locals will tell you they try to avoid ‘touristy’ Bay Street. They don’t avoid Bay Street Blues.
Bay Street Blues is celebrating 20 years in business which kind of makes it a historic dive bar now.
It’s a history filled with karaoke, $1 jello shots made weekly by the owner, great music and late nights with new friends.
On St. Patrick’s Day it is Savannah’s only dive bar located ON the parade route, which would make it as popular as you might imagine. Yes, Bay Street Blues is legendary.
Closest Eats: Tondees Tavern (and their Macaroni and Cheese burger) are right next door. Five Guys Burgers is a block up Bay Street. Treylor Park is one block in the opposite direction as Five Guys and the very popular Warehouse is directly down the bluff (careful with those steep steps) down on River Street.
