4th Hilton Head Shrimp Festival returns to Harbortown
It started out, very simply, as a celebration of one of our area’s most treasured resources. Shrimp.
It has now become one of the best single day culinary events on Hilton Head Island. It’s back on Saturday, September 24th. The Hilton Head Island Shrimp Festival.
“We originally set out to celebrate the beautiful shrimp we have in this area.” says Matt Roher, Director of Food and Beverage at the Sea Pines Resort.

“We added some craft beers to the celebration and have turned it into one of our favorite events of the year.”
This year will feature 18 chefs from across the region all competing for a highly coveted first prize. They take it very seriously, which means you get to enjoy samples of some carefully crafted shrimp dishes. This year there will be 18 of them. And the best part? You can try them as often as you like. Until they run out of course.
The same goes for the beers. 14 breweries will be represented. You get to sip to your heart’s content. All of it for one price.
The festival is kid friendly with bounce houses and games placed throughout. There will also be live music near the Harbortown Lawn.
The footprint this year will be its biggest yet. Stretching from the Lawn around the yacht basin to the brand new Quarterdeck Restaurant under the lighthouse.
Tickets can be found here. Three of the first 4 years have sold out. This year’s is likely to as well. Come on out for a great time.
