The numbers are astronomical. Millions of food and beverage employees found themselves without a job from one week to the next. It’s not a Savannah thing. It’s not a Hilton Head Island thing. It’s an everywhere thing. Which makes it that much more difficult to help in ways that you may want to.
In the wake of area shutdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, local restaurants have scrambled to find ways to pay their staff. Some have put together fundraisers, others have dedicated a days worth of sales to their employees. Still others plan and simply have asked the general public to help.
