Our first award for Beaufort. Incredibly deserved. Billed as a Gastropub, OBT as it is known is very likely not only the most popular spot in that Historic Downtown area, but the most delicious. Menu varies day to day, week to week, but there is an Italian spin to it. As evidenced by their wood burning pizza oven next door. A next door that you have to walk through a British phone booth to get to. Their Gnocchi is the most popular. But everything is exceptional. Neighborhood spot? Perfectly situation in a side street in historic downtown Beaufort a couple of blocks from the waterfront, it is everything you want in a ‘lets take a walk down the street.’
I’m secretly hoping they can’t make it to our Foodie Awards party on May 5th just so I can have an excuse to make the hour drive from Downtown Savannah to Beaufort for dinner. Worth the trip? Those of us in the know, know. Absolutely.
