Thanks for joining us for an all new episode of Eat It and Like It! So much going on in and around Savannah that it is almost a full time job keeping up with it all. Once a year or so we dedicate a full episode to all that is new in the neighborhood. Here’s what we found.
Totally Baked Grab n Go – Totally Baked is a weeks–old sandwich shop on Jefferson Street in downtown Savannah. Owned and operated by Pat and Jennifer McNamara, Totally Baked is something they’ve been talking about for over a decade. The McNamaras are most known in Savannah for their fine dining restaurant Noble Fare. Totally Baked is totally different. Fresh salads, dressings made in house, and giant sandwiches. Open 6 days a week 11a-6pm.
Auspicious Bakery – Opened in May, Auspicious is a small bakery on Skidaway Road in Savannah near Derenne Avenue. Kaitlyn Bryant and Mark Ekstrom have made quite a name for themselves. She’s the baker, he runs the business. They only open twice a week for retail. Sunday mornings (expect a wait) and Tuesday afternoons at 2pm. When it’s gone, it’s gone. Many times everything they bake is gone in 3 hours. Maybe less.
Others mentioned in our episode:
East End Provisions, Little Duck Diner, Diplomat Luncheonette (All downtown Savannah) and Current Restaurant on Wilmington Island.
See you on TV,
Jesse
