Tondee’s Tavern doesn’t get a lot of publicity. They don’t ring their bell or toot their own horn at all and as a result, they are many times overlooked when it comes to solid bar food. Burgers are good, their ribs are fall of the bone tender and the chicken wings are great as well. The space is on old haunted location, like so many others in downtown Savannah. It’s a popular spot on local ghost tours. It is said that slaves were held in the basement area and there definitely ghosts there. You’ll also find a couple of very large screen televisions to watch a ball game. Sometimes Tondee’s will even run a chicken wing special during a game, but you will have to ask. Hot wings.
