Savannah Gourmet Seafood and Spirits Festival Returns

Any great event by a different name is still a great event, is it not?  Such is the case with a Savannah event now in it’s 4th year but under a new title and umbrella.

The Savannah Gourmet Seafood and Spirits Festival, formerly known as Aquacurean, will be held at the Westin Savannah Harbor once again this year August 17-20, 2017.

If you have attended “Aquacurean” in the past, then you know it very quickly became one of the better seafood events in Savannah. With celebrity chefs from all over the South and across America descending on Georgia’s coast in what amounts to a celebration of the best ‘fruits of the sea’ we can offer in this area. The event is essentially a ‘hotel takeover’ at the Westin Savannah Harbor, one of the citys finest resorts.

The schedule is also a little different than it has been in the past. There is a full listing below. Growth is good. That means more opportunities to enjoy great seafood in a fantastic setting. Thursday, August 17 – “Coastal Chef’s Table”, 6:30 – 10:30 pm, $125

The Westin Savanah Harbor – Newly renovated Grand Ballroom

The official Seafood & Spirits kick-off starts on Thursday, August 18th with a five-course dinner pairing event featuring chef and cocktail demonstrations. This premier event will feature a seated five course culinary journey with paired wines & spirits. Our guest chefs will display their finest cuisine through this year’s theme: “The Southern Coast”. Our certified experts will create exquisite wine and spirits pairings to accompany each course. Guests will delight as they enter the Grand Ballroom of The South’s Downtown Resort to discover a reimagined space designed by Event Haus Rentals and sit at the table of world-renowned chefs and mixologists. The sights, sounds and aromas of the kitchen fill the room as guests enjoy and participate in stunning culinary demonstrations.

Friday, August 18 – “Last Blast of Summer” Lowcountry Picnic, 6:30 – 9:00, $35

Our newest addition to the Gourmet Seafood & Spirits Festival on Friday, August 18th. Enjoy the evening with live music, featuring samplings of local craft beer and spirits with oysters, Shrimp & Grits, and BBQ with a beautiful view of Savannah.

Saturday, August 19 – “AquaCurean Challenge”, 2 – 5 pm, $55 per person

The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa – Resort Takeover

]The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa hosts live music, seafood tastings, spirit, wine & brew tastings, VIP areas, Flair Bartenders and more. The AquaCurean Challenge includes a seafood recipe competition sponsored by US Foods and a hand-crafted cocktail competition decided by attendee popular vote during the event on August 19th. This year’s presenting spirit sponsors include Bacardi, Blue Point Brewery and more.

Sunday, August 20 – “Fresh Catch & Cocktails Jazz Brunch” – 12:30 – 3:30 pm, $65

Join us for Cocktails and Shrimp Tails, A Bloody Mary bar, Champagne, seafood, breakfast buffet & jazz music. Guests can join our chefs for an unforgettable brunch with a few surprises by our spirit partners.  Admission includes a very special AquaCurean souvenir glass, delicious food and beautiful music performed by Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Trio.

 

Eat It and Like It launched in Savannah, Georgia with television personality Jesse Blanco as the host. His passion for food and travel has made Eat It and Like It a two-time EMMY nominated program about contemporary and traditional Southern food.
