Alligator Soul’s Mulled Wine

Alligator Soul is quietly one of Savannah’s best.  Not only is the food outstanding every single time, but it is probably this cities most “adventurous” menu as well.  I’ve had antelope there, goat, rabbit and guinea hen.   Most of those for the first time and I enjoyed them.  If that’s a little too “out there” for you, have no fear.  There are plenty of other great dishes on their menus as well.   Thank you to Alligator Soul for participating in this year’s 12 Days of Christmas recipes and giving us a creative twist on wine for the holidays.

  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 4 Sticks of Cinnamon
  • 5 Whole Star Anise
  • 1 tsp Whole Clove
  • 4 Sprigs Fresh Thyme
  • 1.5 cups Sugar
  • 3 oz. of Brandy
  • 3 oz. of Apple Cider

Bring all Ingredients to a low boil.  Lower heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.  Take off of heat and let steep for another 15-20 minutes.  Serve gently warmed.
