For the sake of offering some solid variety to our list of spots to Eat Like a Local, we felt compelled to include Randy’s BBQ. There are 2-3 ‘Roadside Smoker’ BBQ spots in Savannah. The kind of place where people line up just as they ribs are coming off of the grill. On Fridays, the line is long. Actually, I take that back. On any given day, the line can be long. It’s just a matter of timing. But on Fridays? You are very likely to wait for some of Randy’s Ribs. Great price makes them so popular, with rib boxes going for as little as $8.00. These days, $8.00 will barely get you $7.00, especially when it comes to a quality lunch, which this is. Like most BBQ, when it is gone, it is gone. There’s no website, there’s no social media. 750 Wheaton Street, about 4 blocks off of Savannah’s Historic District. Look or the plume of smoke. Oh, and the long line.
