Random Ruminations August 10th

**We’ve taken a good bit of the summer to get some logistics in order.  Sturdy up our foundation for a Fall premiere on WSAV.  On TV and on-line.   Come back often,  we’ll have foodie goodies for you.

**Hugh Acheson’s new Italian restaurant on Victory Drive officially to be called “The Florence”  according to Eater Atlanta.  The name has double meaning.  Obviously, the city in Italy and Florence being the name of The Waving Girl.  Read more about it here.  Still set to open March 2014.

**Leoci’s Trattoria  is extending its Restaurant Week menu through Labor Day.  See the full menu here.

**Missed out on our piece on some of the area’s best pizza?  Take that, rewind it back….and click here. Yes, it’s worth a look.  It’s in Bloomingdale.

Roma Pizza in Bloomingdale is some the area's best.

**I’m being told ticket sales for the Savannah Food and Wine Festival have been at a pace that has exceeded all expectations to this point.  I don’t think there is any question that these events will sell out.  Buy yours sooner rather than later.  Don’t say we didn’t warn you.  Go to www.savannahwineandfoodfest.com for more.

**Best “Non-traditional” chicken wings in Savannah might just be at The Sparetime.  Corner of MLK and Congress.    More on them coming soon.  Yes, that good.  Their General Tso wings are pictured above.

**Also hearing great things about The new Mexican place on Whitaker right next door to Flip Flop Tiki Bar. (between State and Broughton) It’s called Tequila’s Town.

**Popped into the Original Pancake House on Hodgson Memorial the other day.  The omelette was hysterical.  It was almost the size of a basketball.  Enjoyed it.  The pancakes?  Amazing.  Really, REALLY good.  My first time there, obviously.

**Do you know what Aioli is?  How about Lemongrass?   Well, we are going to have some fun on September 29th.  Season 3 premiere of Eat It and Like It.  7:30am on WSAV-TV.

**College football season is kicking off very shortly.  Labor Day weekend brings thousands to Savannah for Craftbrew event over the river.  This year, River Street has plans.   They are rolling outsome big screens so you can come on down and enjoy with them.  Check here for more information.

See you on TV

Jesse
