Random Ruminations

A lot of us will either spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day overindulging, only to wipe the slate clean completely after the ball drops on Times Square.  In the interim, here are a few things to chew on…..

**I am told that Savannah Coffee Roasters is not moving to Bay Street after all.  The lease was just about ready to go, but not signed.  Now it won’t happen.  At least not on Bay Street.  They are searching for a new location, but nothing to report just yet.

**Speaking of closing/not closing, Café 37 was a very popular spot that was forced to close it’s doors.  I am told there is a search to relocate that wonderful restaurant.  You will know when I do.

**In case you missed it earlier this week, a new episode of Eat It and Like It premiered this week.  The Dish on Savannah documents Visit Savannah’s press visit to New York City back in October.  Very interesting view on how our PR people promote the city.  It can be seen on Comcast Channel 8 (SGTV) or on-line. Click here for full episode.

**In case you missed it numero dos (2)….   Check out the story on Brandy Williamson. Executive Chef at Local11ten.  Chef Brandy is pregnant.  But the baby isn’t hers.  It was in the paper Christmas Day.  Click here to see it.

**The recipes in that episode included Banana Pudding from Back in the Day Bakery…. Roasted Tenderloin with Peach and Rum BBQ Sauce. from 700 Kitchen Cooking School.    And Chef Joe Randall’s Black Eyed Pea Cakes and signature mustard sauce.    Find them all at Eat It and Like It.com

**I am not really a party pooper, but it’s hard for me to get fired up about New Year’s Eve on a Monday night.  All of that said, there are quite a few places doing special dinners.

**Can’t eat and drink anymore?  Mark your calendar now.  Restaurant Week starts January 25th.

**Can’t wait that long?  Space is still available on our January 20th Gourmet Foodie Tour.  Not many, but there are.

**Ok, I will back off the overindulgence.   Resolutions anyone?   Train Me 24/7.  Drew Edmonds and his staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet in a workout environment.  But they will firmly kick your butt back into shape if that is what you are looking for.   Give them a call..(912) 225-9695.

**Last but not least (and you will hear much more about this next week)….  Eat It and Like

Coming February 17th

It is having a chef competition.  Have an idea who is the best chef in town?  Well, this will be your chance to find out.  The Eat It and Like It Iron Chef Challenge is coming to the Southern Women’s Show on February 17th.  Once again, full details next week.

Happy Holidays!!!

See you on TV

Jesse
