Thanks for joining us for this very different episode of Eat It and Like It with Jesse Blanco. We’ve talked about doing a pet-friendly episode of our show for a few years. Finally got one on the air and we hope you learned something about puppy food in the Savannah/Hilton Head area. Here is a list of who was featured, in the order they appeared.
The Hipster Hound – We first met them at the Wilmington island Farmer’s Market a few years ago. Their homemade dog treats were exactly what we were looking for. Now they are a full blown doggie day car and kennel on Savannah’s South side, but still making home made dog treats. And, yes, I did eat one. It was quite tasty.
Lucky Dog Cuisine – We were surprised to learn that this nationwide operation has been producing high-end gourmet dog food in Hardeeville, South Carolina for over a decade. One of only a handful of cooked dog food operations in the America. Janice Elenbaas and her husband do a fantastic job satisfying their customers. They tell me some of their regulars have tried to give their dogs other foods in a pinch and the dogs won’t eat them. Clearly those are some Lucky Dogs.
Skillets Cafe – A lot of restaurants will let you bring your dog if you sit outside, but not too many go so far as to have a dog food menu. Pasta, Beef, Turkey, you name it, Skillets Cafe on Hilton Head Island offers it for your pooch. Meanwhile, try their Bananas Foster pancakes or their Apricot Cream Cheese French Toast, you will Eat It and Like It!
See you on TV
Jesse
