There was a lot of anticipation surrounding the opening of Prohibition in Savannah. Headquartered in Charleston, the upscale Irish-influenced restaurant made quite a name for itself in that city for two things, cocktails and great food. The cocktail program here in Savannah hit the ground running day one with tremendous variety-though not over the top-cocktail creations. Add to that, they’ve got solid talent behind the bar to bring it all together. Not the kind of bartender that can’t wait to tell how qualified he is to make that drink. Part of the deal, I suppose. It’s the only ‘beverage’ award we are doing this year, and it was a hearty discussion who should get it. This year, it goes to Prohibition Savannah.
