One of downtown Savannah’s most anticipated restaurant openings in the last ten months is finally upon us. 39 Rue de Jean inside the Embassy Suites Hotel on Savannah’s Westside has announced they will officially open for business on Wednesday, November 11th.
“Rue” as it is widely known, is a classic French brasserie with European flavors and designs. The restaurant is owned by Holy City Hospitality out of Charleston, but is is only the 2nd “Rue” concept to be built. The original in Charleston opened in 2001 and has enjoyed tremendous success.
The opening comes about a year behind schedule. Original plans were to be open by Fall of last year, but a number of factors contributed to the delay. The Savannah region has been expecting an opening any time for months. Now, the official date is here.
